Bete Noire (Sometimes called "Betty" or "Bete") is currently the 5th strongest class in the game. While her combos can be quite damaging, most of her moves are fairly easy to evade. Betty can 1 shot move easily if you drain more than half hp or half mana(in sans) just use 2 and 1 then gg ez, has 3 phases and has autoblock in 1 and 2 phase (normal mode), has 2 modes which are scythe and normal

A good counter for Bete is Glitchtale Chara, who, if she is played with well , can simply run her over with his long, high damage combos. Undertale Sans is also a good counter, as his Karma and Auto Dodge is nuisance to her. Right now the biggest counter for Bete is StoryShift Chara, as she also has Auto Dodge, but also high damage moves that are hard to counter without Rhabdophobia. Betty's block and normal mana can be taken out easily if the user spams moves.

Note: Bete is a very aggressive character and can be a menacing character to some classes if she is used properly.

Passive abilities[]

Regeneration[]

Bete naturally regenerates health when her mana meter is at or more than 95%. She regens about 1 HP per second. Phase 1 and 3 only

Akumu / Kumu[]

Kumu autoblock

Akumu blocking

Bete has a pink block bar below her stamina meter. While in Normal mode, Akumu will attempt to block any move in front of Bete if she is being attacked. If the pink block bar is drained, Akumu will not be able to block for a few seconds, and then the bar regenerates. It will not help you a lot as if it breaks very quickly and it cannot block some attacks that a normal block can block, such as SOJ.P.S. (AKUMU'S BLOCK WILL NOT WORK IS TRUE POWER MODE EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE A PINK BAR. The reason you don't have autoblock is because you have fused with Akumu, therefore you can block but Akumu is dormant and unable to block.)

HATE[]

Boi HATE healz

HATE

In her HATE phase, Bete gains a HATE percentage. The percentage goes up when Bete takes damage. The more HATE she gains, the more HP she regens. However, she will lose Attack and Defense stats as a trade with a limit of 9 ATK and 21 DEF( with no souls)

If she reaches 89% HATE (which is the current HATE Percentage cap), Bete will rapidly lose health. However, HATE decays over time.

In her HATE Phase, she can teleport and she has new attacks with her Scythe mode, Fear Trail and HATE Slash.

Normal Mode[]

Note: Do NOT edit these information without permission as this will lead to confusion![]

Damage assumes 99 Defense

Basic[]

Melee Combo[]

A basic melee combo consisting of 6 punches, with the last punch knocking the opponent back. Each punch deals 1 damage.

Spear Of Fear

Soul Steal

1 - Kleptophobia (aka Soul Steal) [ CD : 35 seconds ][]

Bete manifests her soul and transforms it into a spear. After a few seconds, Bete throws the spear in a direction. If Bete's opponent is hit by the spear, the opponent instantly dies and she steals their soul (Ignores phases.)This move used to activate the next phase of a character (such as Undyne) in early release. For every soul that she steals, Bete gains +5 max HP, +5 Attack and +5 Defense when she steals a soul, this caps out at 6 souls. Rhabdophobia's cooldown also decreases(30 seconds if full souls). The decrease caps out at 39 seconds. Stealing souls does not reduce your HATE percentage.

This move can be very easily avoided or blocked however, due to its long windup and slow speed. However, this move's range is moderate.you might have a chance to use your 2 then normal 1

2 - Mnemophobia (aka the 7 year coma) [ CD : 20 seconds ][]

F E A R S T A N C E

Fear Stare

Bete holds her hands behind her back as she stares at the closest person facing her, causing them to hallucinate. When an opponent is affected by Fear Stare, they will stand still. In the hallucination, Bete transforms herself into a random friend of the opponent, as the background changes to pink. That player is stunned for 5 seconds.

The lower the opponent's health is, the longer the stun will last. It can last up to 10s if the player being stunned has below 50% health. Fear Stare will not work if the opponent is looking away from Bete or is far away from her. Fear Stare can stun blocking players, and those who are affected by the move also cannot Reset while stunned

This move will sometimes glitch as on the stunned player's screen it shows that the Betty user is in one position and may also trap you in pink world forever where you can move but you can only see the opponent. This is permanent and the only way to undo it is to rejoin.

3 - Basophobia (aka get dunked on) [ CD : 20 seconds ][]

Yoink

Air Kick

Akumu fuses with Betty's left hand as she extends it, attempting to latch onto the opponent. If someone is latched on, they are dealt 1 damage and thrown into the air. Afterwards, Akumu fuses with Betty's right foot to boost her jumping capabilities. She then jumps up after the opponent and then kicks them back down to the ground, dealing 8 damage, and then 10 more damage on impact with the ground. This attack knocks the opponent on the floor. This attack can also hit grounded opponents. This move can be both blocked and perfect blocked.

4 - Acrophobia (aka body slam ) [ CD : 20 seconds ][]

Blade slam

Blade Slam

Bete leaps into the air and Akumu fuses with her right hand to create a sharp pink blade. She then spins for a moment before diving to the ground, creating an explosion where the player's mouse is pointed (Within range). Deals 13 damage and has small knockback. Bete can also leap horizontally with the move. This attack can hit downed opponents. After the move is used, Bete will stay stunned for a while.

5 - Aicophobia (aka absolutely played bozo) [ CD : 20 seconds ][]

Spear

Spear Teleport

Bete conjures a spear and waits for a second. She then teleports behind her opponent and attempts to stab them with her spear. If the spear hits the opponent, the opponent takes 23 damage before Bete ducks and Akumu rams into the opponent, knocking them back in that direction and dealing 10 Damage. Ignores normal Block, not HP blocks.

The move also has infinite range, but can only be used by locking on a player. This attack is easy to dodge as the aiming can get messed up when you go closer to Bete, or when you're running.

6 - Rhabdophobia [ CD : depends][]

RHABDOPHOBIAUHAEBYUBVAEUSGCIEBVAYUSV

Rhabdophobia

Bete says "Rhabdophobia" as she leans forward and expels her arms backwards and creates a large negative dome that inverts all color within the area. Any ranged attack caught in the dome immediately redirects itself onto the person who used it, regardless if its directed at Betty or not.

The moves reflected by Rhabdophobia will inflict twice the damage they would normally deal (Except for Undyne's Spear of Justice, which deals normal damage.) Rhabdophobia can be used in all of Bete's modes and forms. It has a 100s cooldown with no souls, and a 39s cooldown at 6 souls (which is the max soul cap currently)

Awaken

TruePower Awakening

7 - True Power Awakening ( aka tryhard mode) [ CD : One-use ][]

Requires Bete to be in HATE form and in Normal Mode.

Bete fuses with Akumu and transforms to her True Power form, gaining claws and changing her stats to 125 Health, 65 Attack and 300 Defense. It also unlocks a new moveset and removes the current HATE percentage.

Scythe Mode[]

Passive[]

Bete's Scythe increases melee damage and sprinting speed by a significant amount.

Tip :It's better to use scythe mode when your auto block is down, however, only do this if you are either good at perfect blocking or staying defensive. Because one mistake can lead to a combo that can take a good chunk of your health down, especially GT Chara's bread and butter combo.

3GwAQo

Scythe Strike

1 - Aichmophobia (Scythe Slash) [ CD : 15 seconds ][]

Bete dashes in the direction she is looking at before slicing in a semicircle, dealing high damage and knockback. Bete get stunned for a while if this move misses

2 - Mnemophobia (aka Fear Stare) [ CD : 15 seconds ][]

Bete holds her hands behind her back as she stares at the closest person facing her, causing them to hallucinate. When an opponent is affected by Fear Stare, they will stand still. In the hallucination, Bete transforms herself into a random friend of the opponent, as the background changes to pink. That player is stunned for 5s.

The lower the opponent's health is, the longer the stun will last. It can last up to 10s if the opponent has below 50% HP.

Fear Stare will not work if the opponent is looking away from Bete or is far away from her. Fear Stare can stun blocking players, and those who are affected by the move also cannot Reset while stunned.

This move will sometimes glitch the victim's screen, with some glitches permanently changing the stunned player's screen to pink and the Betty's avatar to the friend for the duration of the target's lifespan.

Ugyuibytuihbguyihobukluik

Fear Trail

3 - Cymophobia [ CD : 65 seconds ][]

Requires Bete to be in HATE Form.

Bete raises her Scythe upwards as it sparks with HATE. After a few seconds, she slams the Scythe to the ground, sending out a wave of Fear and HATE energy that deals 36 damage and inflicts extreme knockback. This attack only breaks their normal blocks, not HP blocks. Breaks block and drains all mana if normally blocked.

4 - Nyctophobia ( best move ever) [ CD : 100 seconds ][]

1scythe4

HATE Slash

Requires Bete to be In HATE Form.

Bete teleports to the opponent and slashes her scythe and transmits a hate slash that stuns the opponent, before unleashing a second slash a few seconds later.

Note: Bete moves slowly when the move is done as this may be a disadvantage so plan your attacks accordingly.

True Power (MEGA TRYHARD MODE)[]

Her True Power has its own unique combo, but it has not been added on this page yet.

1 - Traumatophobia[]

Bete will send out 2 triangle projectiles 1 out of each claw. It has decent stun but takes about 20% mana. Great combo tool.

2 - Mnemophobia (aka Fear Stare)[]

3 - Ballistophobia[]

TP 3

Fear Arrow

Bete creates a ranged arrow from her left claw that she shoots forward, dealing 19 damage and knocking opponent back. If the opponent is hit by the arrow while in the air, it will knock up instead. The move can be charged and Bete conjures 4 more arrows behind her that immediately fly at the opponent after a delay, dealing massive amounts of damage. Can be comboed with Fear Spikes.

4 - Aviatophobia (aka Hate Slam)[]

Bete extends her left claw's reach and aims for the opponent. If she hits her opponent, the opponent is dealt 1 damage as Bete leaps up into the air along with the opponent clutched in her claw. She then raises them up and slams them to the ground for 40 damage. The move has a shorter range, but slightly faster cast time than Air Kick. This attack also knocks the opponent down. This attack can also hit downed opponents. Like Air Kick, this move is perfect blockable.

5 - Aichmophobia[]

TP 5

Fear Spikes

Bete slams her right claw into the ground, causing pink spikes to appear below the opponent and puncture them, dealing 29 damage and knocking up the opponent. Can hit downed opponents, but has a moderate range limit.

6 - Cleithrophobia (aka Fear Tentacles)[]

TP 6

Fear Tentacles

Bete slams both of her claws into the ground, causing massive pink tentacles to rise out of the ground and stab the opponent, dealing moderate damage and knocking them down before sinking back into the ground. Ignores blocking.

7 - Grothophobia(Fist Of Fear)[]

Grothophobi

Colossal Fist after 2 melee attacks

Bete's right claw grows in size before she throws a punch with that claw, dealing damage and knocking the opponent away. Can hit downed opponents. Ignores blocking.

8 - Rhabdophobia[]

Bete says "Rhabdophobia" as she leans forward and expels her arms backwards and creates a large negative dome that inverts all color within the area. Any ranged attack caught in the dome immediately redirects itself onto the person who used it, regardless if its directed at Betty or not.

TP 8

Rhabdophobia (TP Ver)

The moves reflected by Rhabdophobia will inflict twice the damage they would normally deal (Except for Undyne's Spear of Justice, which deals normal damage.) Rhabdophobia can be used in all of Bete's modes and forms. It has a 100s cooldown with no souls, and a 39s cooldown at 6 souls (which is the max soul cap currently)

TruePower Scythe Mode[]

Bete performs a unique combo with her Scythe. First, she slashes 2 times with the Scythe, then she kicks the opponent before slashing again. Afterwards, she spins for a moment, jumps up and slashes downward. The combo deals moderate damage, and it has moderate speed as well.

1 - Amaxophobia[]

TPS 1

Scythe Teleport

Bete teleports in front of her opponent before slashing, dealing good damage and knocking them back. This move has infinite range, but can only be used by locking on a player. It is blockable, though.

2 - Agoraphobia[]

TPS 2

Deadly Scythe Strike

Bete quickly dashes at her opponent before slashing downwards at them, dealing moderate damage and knocking them back. This move has high range, so you can dash to your foe from a far distance. However, it is blockable.

3 - Hemophobia[]

TPS 3

Bloody Fear Trail

Bete slams her Scythe to the ground as it sparkles before sending out a wave of blood red energy. It is a buffed and recolored version of Fear Infestation which which is bigger, moves much faster, and deals more damage (52 damage.) Unblockable and drains all mana if blocked, however special blocks do work with this

4 - Megalophobia[]

TPS 4

Scythe Slam

Bete dashes forward and teleports behind her opponent while in the air. Her Scythe blade grows in size before she rushes back at the opponent and slams the enlarged Scythe, dealing high damage and knocking them back.

Has infinite range, but can only be used when locked onto someone.

This move also has long start-up.

Tips[]

Playing As[]

  • If you are fighting Undyne, it is wise to switch to scythe mode more often, but Undyne doesn't have that many attacks that break Bete's shield.
    • If you do get hit by a spear, play defensively in Scythe mode.
    • its hard to play aggressive when you don't have much mana so just try to play neutral and bait your opponent
    • Be careful of her Spear of Justice. If you see it winding up, use Rhabdophobia immediately so that Undyne takes the damage instead of you.
  • Use Fear Stare on players with 50% or less HP (Mana for Undertale Sans) to enable you to steal their soul without much hassle.
  • Rhabdophobia can turn the tide of a fight if used wisely, due to its ability to reflect almost every projectile move in the game. It is best to use Rhabdophobia if an opponent were to use some of their most powerful moves such as Glitchtale Chara's HATE Ball, Undertale Sans' Gaster Blaster 6, Undyne's Spear of Justice, or StoryShift Chara's Knifes 6.
  • The projectiles that can be reflected by Rhabdophobia are: Undertale Sans' Bones and Gaster Blasters, Glitchtale Chara's Slashes and HATE BALL, Cross' Knives, Ranged Slash, Bones and Blaster, X!Chara's Ranged Slash and Knives, Storyshift Chara's Knives and Blasters, Undyne's Spears and Spear of Justice, Glitchtale Frisk's Ranged Slashes, Carrot God's Carrots, Asriel's Stars/Fireballs (in his GoH form) and finally, Delta Sans' Bones and Blasters. Some ranged projectiles such as Glitchtale Chara HATE 2, Stevonnie's Ranged Slash, and Sakuya's Knives can't be reflected.
  • Run when you see True Knife 4. It can deal a lot of damage when fighting as/against UT Frisk.
  • Try countering an LMB with Fear Stare in HATE and base phase, then attack them using Normal 5, or Scythe 1,3,or 4.
  • Depending on how you use True Power, it can be a horrible phase if you don't know how to use it (low mana pool and HP) , but can be good if you know massive damaging combos.
  • Never use Air Kick or Claw Slam alone, you will be punished easily.
  • If low on ,or completely out of, stamina, stop trying to fight. Simply walk backwards, and avoid dodging what Kumu can autoblock. With proper reaction time and timing, you can easily punish the enemy if they try to get close enough to start hitting you with LMB. Bete is an aggressive character, but you still need the tools to actually make use of that.
  • Save your 4 or 3 against Delta, Storyshift Chara, and anyone else who cannot use their final attack in the air.

Playing Against[]

  • Undyne can stun Bete by hitting her with a spear (In normal mode,) which also breaks her stamina.
  • Old Sans and Cross can use their Bones/Normal moves to deal heavy damage to Bete's shield.
    • Additionally, Cross' Normal 3 bypasses Akumu or a normal block.
  • Storyshift Chara's Knives/Blaster moves and Glitchtale Chara/Undertale Frisk's Melee (Real Knife for Frisk) can take a very big chunk out of Akumu, if not breaking the entire shield.
  • New Sans is currently the 2nd-worst matchup for Bete Noire (The 1st being Storyshift Chara), as he doesn't have to worry about losing much mana via attacks, making it harder for Bete to take him down.
  • A Soul Steal from another Bete Noire can also bypass Akumu.
  • As Delta Sans, it is best to use your Bone moves to stun Akumu, as they have multiple hits and high damage (Bones 1) or a single hit which nearly destroys her entire shield (Bones 2) , or (Bones 3), which can be substituted to a Blaster 4 combo, your usual combos or your Final.
  • You can easily escape Fear Stare by unlocking and look behind quickly. Then look back and lock back on and punish them(should be enough time). You can also dash backward but that does not work as well.
  • You can play aggressive with a Bete, but I recommend you playing defensive.
  • Kill Betty in first phase before you get to your second phase. If you get to second phase before she gets to it, she has more health advantage due to her HATE and auto regen.
  • Betty cannot reflect other Betty attacks in HATE or normal phase.
  • Air Kick and Claw Slam is perfect blockable by blocking right at the time the rope is almost coming to you.
